Do you have clients/patients who come to you for help losing/managing weight and eating healthier? If so, you know this is not an easy task. Often clients struggle with a few roadblocks that make it challenging such as self-sabotage, old dieting rules and a negative inner self-critic that says, “I can’t do it,” “why try,” or “it’s hopeless” etc.
The lesson I’ve learned is that the words you use matter in helping clients move forward. The good news is that the interventions can be very easy and don’t take a lot of time. This is important. In health care, we want to provide high quality care in the time we have allotted—whether that is 10 minutes or an hour.
