A Message from Susan
Welcome! I’m Dr. Susan Albers. I’m a psychologist at the Cleveland Clinic and New York Times Bestselling author of seven books on mindful eating.
Over the past fifteen years, I have discovered that people often know what to eat (fruits, veggies, healthy foods) but “how” to choose nourishing foods and stop emotional eating is much more difficult.
My mission is to give you practical, easy mindful eating tools, based on proven science, to help you have a peaceful, healthy relationship to food. Mindful eating can help rewire your brain to make healthy food choices, stop mindless eating, manage/lose weight and be happier with your body.
“In But I Deserve This Chocolate!, Susan Albers insightfully points out our fifty best diet-derailing excuses and shows one or two easy ways to tackle each excuse. The result is a punchy, inspiring book that is full of new ideas and practical tips for getting us past our most diet-destroying excuses. Fifty cheers!”
“In this new edition of Eating Mindfully, Susan Albers gives more advice to those who truly care about what they eat. This book will help the consumer understand that the choices we make each day about what we buy have differing impacts on the world around us and on our own health. Hers is a reasoned voice in an environment where the fast food industry is still urging us to buy cheap food, not revealing the hidden costs. If you want to be healthy and care about a healthy planet, this is a book that will help you.”
“Eating Mindfully is a must-have book for people who want to deepen their mind-body connection through the experience of eating. It is chock-full of practical skill-building steps and written in a genuinely compassionate manner that will inspire you. Inner peace begins with compassion from within, not from perpetual food fights at the dinner table or within the battleground of your mind. This book will show you how to tap your innate ability to make peace with your eating. Eating Mindfully is a welcome respite.”
“At last–a book on eating well that puts everything you need to know in one place.” Brilliant!
“This book could be a godsend for anyone suffering from lifelong issues around eating, weight, and appearance. It presents a sane and novel approach to finding a balanced relationship to food, eating, and your body through mindfulness.”
“Albers has done it again! In her sequel to the amazing 50 Ways to Soothe Yourself Without Food, readers will be thrilled with this practical, easy-to-follow road map for ending emotional eating. She leads you on a journey to find comfort without calories. 50 More Ways to Soothe Yourself Without Food is packed with creative, unique, healthy, and lasting alternatives to munching away your emotions.”
